IMPORTANT INFORMATION

In December 2016 the municipality of Solidaridad (Playa del Carmen) approved a new environmental tax which applies to all visitors who stay in hotels, motels or guest houses. This tax is used for environmental purposes such as beach maintenance and conservation, urban waste treatment and ecological public lighting, among other green initiatives. The tax amounts to $20 MXN per room/night. The tax will be paid directly in the hotel upon arrival either by credit or debit card (only Visa or MasterCard) or in cash (in any main currency, except in US dollars).

Currency exchange service: due to the new laws enacted by the Mexican government, we hereby inform you that we will not be able to accept cash payment for stays or services in dollars. The new legislation also prohibits reception from exchanging dollars for pesos. This new legislation will not affect transactions carried out in other currencies.

Spring Break Policies: Spring Breakers (either groups or individuals, regardless of age) are not allowed at this property, at any time during the year. RIU Hotels & Resorts, reserves the right to withhold admission to any Spring Breaker. The hotel reserves the right of admission and may request clients to show passport or official ID to prove full identification. Guests can and will be removed from the property at their own expense in case of any disturbance or complaint from other guests or hotel staff. Parties in rooms are not allowed. Spring break groups or unruly behavior is not allowed all year round at any property.
