Miami's beaches, restaurants and avenues are a meeting place for artists and intellectuals. The atmosphere is cosmopolitan and sophisticated, and the place is a mixture of natural beauty and urban dynamism. Miami has been depicted countless times in films and television, so it's worth a visit to directly experience its beaches, architecture, curious Caribbean-inflected cuisine and the unique personality of each of its neighbourhoods.

At the Hotel Riu Plaza Miami Beach, you'll find everything you need to enjoy your stay. Thanks to its excellent beachfront location, you'll be able to see the most emblematic places in the city and immerse yourself in the Miami atmosphere.

Discover the best of Miami

Miami has countless places to explore, so you won't have time to get bored. You can start with the famous South Beach neighbourhood, the site of the Hotel Riu Plaza Miami Beach, and explore the Art Deco district with its fantastic architectural legacy; the area around Española Way, with its numerous art studios and galleries; and Lummus Park Beach, a perfect place to stroll and enjoy lovely views of the coast. And very nearby you'll find Miami Beach, where you can take a stroll on its famous boardwalk.

Another area you can't miss is the Coral Gables neighbourhood, where you'll find the Lowe Art Museum and the diverse art galleries that surround it. If you prefer nature, we recommend a walk through Matheson Hammock Park and the 83 hectares of the city's impressive botanical garden. And just a few blocks away is Coconut Grove, a formerly bohemian neighbourhood that subsequently attracted more affluent residents who built fantastic mansions worthy of admiration; and Little Havana, an animated Cuban neighbourhood that's full of life, street music and murals.

And if you want to get away from the bustle of the city, don't hesitate to take an excursion to Everglades National Park, a unique natural wonder and one of the wildest areas of the United States, or visit Key Biscayne, an island off the southern coast, where you can learn about the history of the country in just a few square kilometres.

Miami's gastronomic offer

Miami is a city with a cuisine that knows no limits, where you can find any type of restaurant or meal to fit any taste or pocketbook. It's a very international city where you can try food from all over the world adapted to the tastes of both residents and visitors. You'll be able to savour countless types of hamburgers, typical Cuban recipes, crab cooked in numerous ways, as well as the dishes offered by the numerous food trucks, the famous 'mobile restaurants' that have evolved to the point of serving gourmet fare.

Haulover Beach Park:

This beach in Miami Beach stands out for its transparent waters, which are part of a protected zone with sand dunes and abundant vegetation that helps cover up the buildings around it.

Biscayne National Park:

From several points of the city there are excursions in glass-bottom boats, which are perfect for discovering this protected maritime area. Its waters are home to lovely coral reefs, tropical fish, sea turtles and manatees, amongst other species.

Fairchild Tropical Botanic Garden:

It's one of the largest tropical botanic gardens in the United States. Its eleven flowery lakes and ponds are an explosion of colour and a sight for sore eyes.
