Mazatlán, known as the 'Pearl of the Pacific', is the perfect destination for spending a holiday surrounded by heavenly beaches and authentic Mexican landscapes that reflect the colonial architecture of the country. During your stay, you can enjoy the finest cuisine, the best leisure options, and excursions that will let you see amazing natural settings.

In Mazatlán, specifically on Playa Brujas, you'll find the Hotel Riu Emerald Bay. Its privileged location and exclusive amenities make it the perfect place to stay during your holiday.

Unforgettable natural landscapes

Around the hotel you'll find stunning landscapes, like the three islands off the Mazatlecan tourist zone: Isla de Pájaros, Isla de Venados and Isla de Lobos. On these tiny islands, you'll find natural paradises where you can practise aquatic sports, watch the arrival of sea lions to one of the islands, and learn about their unique flora and fauna. And if you want to enjoy the best beaches, you mustn't overlook Playa Brujas, one of the most tranquil in the area; the virgin beaches of Isla de la Piedra; or Playa Olas Altas, the most iconic beach of the city, located in Viejo Mazatlán.

Mazatlán: the highest expression of colonial architecture

The city of Mazatlán is another of the areas you shouldn't miss during your visit. On its streets you'll find interesting museums and art galleries, monuments and sculptures, historic buildings and sites of great cultural interest. We recommend you visit the historic centre, the Archaeological Museum, the Pino Suárez market, the cathedral, the Faro de Mazatlán lighthouse and the small squares, places full of life where a variety of activities are held for the entertainment of citizens and visitors. You also shouldn't forget to see the Malecón or breakwater, one of the most characteristic attractions of Mazatlán, where you can visit a variety of shops, ride a bicycle and enjoy the lovely ocean views.

The best seafood of the Pacific

The majority of the typical dishes in traditional Mazatleca cuisine are made with the best fish and seafood from the Pacific Ocean, like Sinaloan shrimp, octopus, marlin, to name just a few. Amongst the most popular dishes, are tamales de barbones, machaca, tacos dorados, different types of ceviches, aguachile, and a wide variety of delicious desserts, like jamoncillos de arroz con leche, jalea de pitaya and cocadas. A pleasure for your taste buds!

Faro de Mazatlán:

The highest natural lighthouse in the world. It's located at the top of Crestón hill and is surrounded by cliffs and crags.

The three islands of Mazatlán:

Isla de Pájaros, Isla de Venados and Isla de Lobos. There you'll see amazing scenery, relax in their crystalline waters and discover the natural environment of the place.
