Playa Blanca, located on the west coast of Panama, is the destination with the best tropical climate, with moderate temperatures, plenty of sun and scant rainfall, making it the perfect spot for enjoying a sunny getaway in Panama.

RIU Hotels & Resorts has the Hotel Riu Playa Blanca, which is right on the beachfront. In this hotel you'll find the best amenities and facilities for enjoying an all-inclusive holiday on Playa Blanca. And, in the vicinity of the hotel you'll be able to practise the best aquatic sports or enjoy its heavenly waters.

The best natural spaces

In Playa Blanca you'll see interesting places that will leave you spellbound by the beauty of the country. You can visit the fishing village of Farallón, located very near the hotel, where you'll find a large beach surrounded by a rocky reef and the mouth of the river. You can also visit Farallón Island, a volcanic rock that has been turned into a refuge for extremely varied fauna, including diverse bird species, and which has an abundance of underwater life.

If you want to get to know Coclé better, the province where Playa Blanca is located, we recommend you explore natural spaces like the Valle del Antón, known as the La India Dormida (Sleeping Indian Girl), the El Caño archaeological park, and the numerous warm beaches on the Pacific Ocean. Another marvellous option is to tour the fishing villages on the coast, where you'll be able to learn about the way of life of the local population and purchase hand-crafted products.

Visit to the city

In Panama City you'll discover the history of the country through its streets and landmarks. You can tour Panamá Vieja, the old quarter, and see historic buildings from the colonial era, or visit the new city, the current business, commercial and tourist district. And, we highly recommend you see the Panama Canal, one of the city's greatest sights, which connects the Caribbean to the Atlantic and Pacific oceans.

Gastronomy

In Playa Blanca you'll find a gastronomic offer rich in fish and seafood, like crab, lobster, shrimp, octopus and guabina. You'll also be able to enjoy popular soups like sancocho and fu-fu, the typical tamales, desserts like 'sopa de borracha' (a vanilla sweet with raisins and liquor), and the exquisite tropical fruit the country is known for.

Farallón Island:

This is a volcanic rock where you can explore richly varied fauna, including diverse species of birds, and a rich underwater world to be discovered snorkelling.

El Valle:

This is a dormant volcanic crater in which a marvellous natural ecosystem has formed and where a considerable population is building a true city, making it the largest inhabited crater in the world. You can visit the 'El Macho' waterfall, the 'Los Baños Termales' natural hot springs and 'El Níspero', a small zoo and botanical garden.
