Varadero

Varadero's 20km stretch of heavenly beaches has been attracting visitors for years, making the white sand and crystalline waters of this narrow peninsula the tourist capital of Cuba. Whether it's for watersports like windsurfing, diving, sailing or fishing or just to simply have a dip in the sparkling sea, this place has something for everyone.

Varadero is also close to some of the most beautiful cities in Cuba. Havana, with its unique blend of colonial charm and amazing atmosphere, is just 2 hours away by car. Matanzas (50 minutes away), with elegant buildings and large avenues, is another worthwhile stop.

Those who enjoy nature will appreciate Peninsula de Zapata, south of Varadero, with a large variety of animal and plant species, many of them endemic.
